Good Afternoon LUMC,

The Louisburg football game is tonight so let me say "Go Wildcats!"   Good luck to the football team, the cheerleaders, the jazzy cats, and the band!  I hope you get to go to the game to cheer on our youth!

This weekend Pastor Shane returns from his renewal leave.  Thanks to Linda Mesh and Debbie Alford for reading scripture for us and also thanks to Jennifer Post for serving communion at 1st service.  There is an opening to serve communion at 2nd service.  Please email back if you are available to serve communion at 2nd service. Please continue to use this Sunday Volunteer link to sign-up for scripture reader, communion server, front door greeter, sanctuary greeter.

Thank-you to everyone who donated M&M's to the middle school youth group!  Colton, Marilou, & the middle school youth group will be hand them tomorrow at the Halloween on Broadway.  There are usually over 1,000 kiddos who attend the annual community event!

The Agape Food Pantry sends their "THANKS!" to everyone who donated food and other items for the October distribution. Over 185 individuals were served food on Wednesday.  Wow, the need continues to increase every month.  Please be in prayer for all who need food. This month we'll collect "Thanksgiving" themed non-perishable food items. Please bring donations to church and place in the baskets at the Connection desk.

Did you see the Coats for Folks Facebook posts this week?  If you didn't, search for "Coats for Folks" and watch the short videos.  Officer David Sands & his wife Diane Sands have volunteered to be the leaders of the Coats for Folks this year and a bunch of folks from the Journey Sunday School group have also agreed to be volunteers for this yearly community coat drive.  THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! :) We have already begun to have coats donated in the bins outside the front doors.  Distribution of coats will happen Nov. 16 & 17.

The annual charge conference for our church is scheduled for Sunday, November 6, at 9:30am.  Rev. Micki McCorkle says this time does not interefere with a Chiefs game so it should work out for everyone to be here! Ha!  If you normally attend a Sunday School class during the 9:30-10:30am hour, please consider attending this once a year business meeting of LUMC instead.

Looking forward to the Churstmas season, you might be interested in the following opportunity...Sabra Brueggen is selling poinsettias to fundraise her choir trip to New York in the spring.  She has an online order form here and will have paper copies available at the connection desk this Sunday.  She'll deliver the poinsettias to your home the first week of December or you can leave them here at church for decoration and/or in memory of someone and then take them home on Christmas Eve.

Blessings to you,

Shawna Heien
